Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza

Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza

How many times have you had to decide whether you wanted to go out for burgers or just go get a good slice of pie? It’s a classic mealtime dilemma, one that causes strife in countless households every evening. Dad and little Suzy want pizza, Mom and little Bobby want burgers. Eventually a compromise has to be reached, but in either case someone didn’t get what they really wanted for dinner.

Well, we at the cbsop kitchens are here to help as always. Through the use of science, a think-tank staffed with the finest minds that a third-grade class could provide and the tact of a circus hawker, we have transmogrified these two classic meals into one, thus saving your family from disappointment and woe.

Oh sure, it may sound a little funny and, to the casual observer it looks much like any other pizza, but the flavor will amaze you. This really does taste like a cheeseburger, but it’s made just like any other pizza:

It’s incredible. I mean seriously incredible. You have to try this. It’s that good. It’s so good that I find it nearly impossible to put into words. The best phrase I have to describe the happiness that is this pizza is “OMG Yum!” Or perhaps, “Can I have more?”

For the record, this is an indulgence dish. It isn’t any better for you than your average bacon cheeseburger. Having said that, I’m telling you that you need to make this dish at some point this week. Or now.

Now would be better.  Seriously. Just look at this thing, resplendent in all its bacon-cheesy goodness:

It’s a crowd pleaser. It solves an age-old dilemma. It’s good.

Of course you don’t have to use the toppings I describe here. You can make this with any cheeseburger toppings that you like. What are your favorite cheeseburger ingredients? Share your ideas for improvements or omissions in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.

Orange Chicken with Mushrooms and Peppers Recipe

January 16, 2009 Recipes

The holidays have passed and it’s time to start looking closely at what we’re eating again. For the next several months at least there will be little in the way of heavily buttered sauces or creamy casseroles.  It’s time to shed some of the pounds that copious amounts of Holiday dinners, desserts and alcohol have helped to put around our midsections and with that comes the return of counting points, …

I love Stir Fry.  I love it because it’s fast.  I love it because it’s simple, and I love it because it’s the easiest way I know of to use up anything you happen to have in your fridge or pantry.  You can stir fry just about anything and it’s gonna be good.  Add the right flavorings and whatever it is, it’s gonna be great.  This dish was absolutely fabulous.…

If you’re looking for something a bit different, completely savory and sumptuous and more than a bit over the top, this is the meal for you.  Preparation is relatively simple and the flavors are something that most only experience in high-end establishments, thinking that something of this caliber could never be prepared in a home kitchen.  While there is a bit of long-term preparation involved the process really isn’t all …

Sauteed Spinach and Mushrooms with Feta Recipe

February 4, 2008 Recipes

We are lucky enough to live very close to the school where my wife works, so on most afternoons she just pops home fo lunch.  After two months of pretty hefty holiday meals, we’ve both been feeling the need to go a little lighter.   Even with my inherently carnivorous nature, there are times when I do not feel compelled to have a large meal with proteins as the primary ingredient, …

Green Bean Casserole (For the rest of us)

November 28, 2007 Recipes

The first time I saw a werewolf movie as a young boy it gave me nightmares for a month. Mentioning the “classic” green bean casserole has the same effect on me. It’s terrifying. Overcooked canned beans smothered in a sodium heavy, vaguely mushroom flavored ooze and topped with rapidly softening fried onions.

Who thought of this? Who told us we were supposed to like it?

The components of a green …

The ravioli were awful, but oh, the sauce! – Tomato Sauce Recipe

July 12, 2007 Recipes

They look luscious don’t they? Rich, huge, decadent ravioli, just barely touched with an intensely flavored, yet extremely light tomato sauce. I love ravioli. I love mushrooms. Mushroom ravioli is a natural progression from those two factors. Unfortunately, I made a fatal error with these. I discovered that neither my wife or I can stand dried mushrooms.

The recipe for these ravioli looked and sounded wonderful, the end result was …

Spinach and Mushroom Frittata Recipe

May 29, 2007 Recipes

Sometimes plans change at the drop of a hat in my kitchen. I’d planed on making a few omelets on Sunday morning for a nice sit down brunch with my wife, and then it happened. I reached into the fridge to pull out the basic “eggs/milk/butter” and some mushrooms I wanted to use up, and there was a half wedge of Parmesan Reggiano, just staring at me, all dried-up and …
