Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza

Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza

How many times have you had to decide whether you wanted to go out for burgers or just go get a good slice of pie? It’s a classic mealtime dilemma, one that causes strife in countless households every evening. Dad and little Suzy want pizza, Mom and little Bobby want burgers. Eventually a compromise has to be reached, but in either case someone didn’t get what they really wanted for dinner.

Well, we at the cbsop kitchens are here to help as always. Through the use of science, a think-tank staffed with the finest minds that a third-grade class could provide and the tact of a circus hawker, we have transmogrified these two classic meals into one, thus saving your family from disappointment and woe.

Oh sure, it may sound a little funny and, to the casual observer it looks much like any other pizza, but the flavor will amaze you. This really does taste like a cheeseburger, but it’s made just like any other pizza:

It’s incredible. I mean seriously incredible. You have to try this. It’s that good. It’s so good that I find it nearly impossible to put into words. The best phrase I have to describe the happiness that is this pizza is “OMG Yum!” Or perhaps, “Can I have more?”

For the record, this is an indulgence dish. It isn’t any better for you than your average bacon cheeseburger. Having said that, I’m telling you that you need to make this dish at some point this week. Or now.

Now would be better.  Seriously. Just look at this thing, resplendent in all its bacon-cheesy goodness:

It’s a crowd pleaser. It solves an age-old dilemma. It’s good.

Of course you don’t have to use the toppings I describe here. You can make this with any cheeseburger toppings that you like. What are your favorite cheeseburger ingredients? Share your ideas for improvements or omissions in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.

Black Bean and Bacon Hummus

April 4, 2011 Recipes

If you’re anything like me you fell in love with hummus the first time you tried it. There’s just something about the texture and flavor of hummus that make it something special. It’s a simple dish that somehow manages to be sexy at the same time, whether it’s used as a dip or a spread.

I also love Southwestern cuisine. I love black beans, lime and cilantro.  For me they’re …

One of the highlights of Last years’ foodbuzz blogger festival was a wonderful brunch at LuLu.  I got to sit and hang out with some very old and dear online friends who are now just old friends.  The day was amazing! If you’d like to know more about it, follow the link above.  This post is about just one part of that day and a certain super-blogger’s love of bacon.…

Roast Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

November 11, 2009 Recipes

Brussels sprouts.  As a kid the mere mention of the things would have sent me running to my room in fear, yet here I am sharing a recipe for them at the request of my kids, who absolutely adore them.  It’s a strange turn of events to be sure.

It’s strange the things I adore today that I never would have touched as a child.  I’m not sure if it …

Spaghetti Squash with Crispy Bacon and Turnip Greens Recipe

November 19, 2008 Recipes

Ah, fall.  Squash are everywhere, and in every variety.  It’s the time of year for soups, stews, chili and other things made from late crops, and I for one am just in love with the idea.  Seriously, what in nature is more creamy and luscious than a roasted squash or sweet potato?  Both are a perfect compliment to anything else you happen to have hangin in the oven for long …

Thick and Creamy Potato Bacon Soup Recipe

Thumbnail image for Thick and Creamy Potato Bacon Soup Recipe

Winter weather means soup.  For my family, soup usually means something extremely hearty that sticks to your ribs and will keep you warm through a cold night on the Great Plains. (which, if you’ve never experienced it, can be very cold indeed!) For me the king of all rich and hearty soups is potato soup and this is my take on it.

This soup is hearty and filling.  It’s incredibly …

Penne with Bacon and Mustard Greens Recipe

November 6, 2008 Recipes

From the lost recipe files:  I found the pics for this hanging out in a folder from JUNE!  Luckily, I still remember how I made the dish.

As Italian chefs the world over will tell you, the key behind a great pasta dish is that no one ingredient ever overloads any of the others, and that the pasta is truly supposed to be the star of the show.  This is …

Barbecued Brisket and Bacon Sandwich Recipe

September 9, 2008 Recipes

Vegetarians avert your eyes.  Have your children leave the room, you don’t want them to see this.  For you it won’t be pretty.  However, for those of us who are dedicated omnivores (or in Dr. Biggles case, card carrying carnivores), it’s a dream on a bun, and I had to share it with the world at large.

Please excuse the fact that this really isn’t a recipe.  It’s more of …

Spinach Bacon and Feta Frittata Recipe

March 17, 2008 Recipes

If you’ve spent any time at all hanging around this blog you’ll know that I love frittata. Just like the omelet, frittata’s offer a nearly unlimited choice of ingredients and variations on a theme. Anything this versatile should be celebrated, and I do every time I’m offered the chance. This time was no different.

This dish features some of the ingredients I had lying about the fridge in need of …

Bacon Deviled Eggs Recipe

January 14, 2008 Recipes

Deviled eggs have come a long way since my mother used to make them. Top chefs all over the world have revisited this rather classic dish and added new twists along the way, and so have I. In the past, I’ve added tappenade, pepperocini, artichoke and cayenne to mine, all with great results. This experiment was to see if the classic breakfast combo worked as well. it did, in fact …
